As one of the leading experts in bariatric psychology, I have been working with weight loss surgery patients since 2003 offering specialist assessment and support. I currently work with the St George’s Healthcare NHS Trust bariatric team as a consultant clinical psychologist as well as seeing patients privately for assessment and pre- and post-surgery support.
I am happy to take referrals for specialist advice and assessment in this area, including problems with post-surgical disordered eating, addiction transfer, body image distress and adjustment difficulties.
My book “Cut Down to Size: Achieving Success with Weight Loss Surgery” was published by Routlege in January 2013. It was Highly Commended in the BMA Book Awards 2014.
“It is not so much a textbook, but a preparation for a journey. It should be required reading for all those considering surgical intervention, and those delivering care.”
Mr Shaw Somers, Consultant Bariatric Surgeon, Streamline Surgical.
“Indispensible! A comprehensive key text providing remarkable insight and education for the bariatric practitioner and patient alike.”
Scott Lonnee, Bariatric Dietitian, St George’s Hospital, London.
